Set off on an exhilarating speedboat tour from Lagos Marina to explore one of the most iconic sea caves in the world - the Algar de Benagil, located near Carvoeiro. Accessible only by sea, this natural marvel features a dramatic open ceiling, golden walls and crystal-clear water, making it a must-see destination on the Algarve coast.
Covering approximately 11 nautical miles (20 km), this fast-paced journey is made aboard high-speed RIBs (rigid inflatable boats), specially designed for agility and comfort. These smaller vessels are ideal for entering narrow grottoes along the coast - something not possible with larger boats - allowing for closer and more detailed exploration of various caves between Carvoeiro and Benagil.
The trip takes around 30 minutes each way, with plenty of time to admire the rock formations and hidden caves along the route. While disembarkation and swimming are not part of this tour, it offers a unique and memorable way to visit one of Portugal’s most photographed landmarks.
