Santa Bernarda - Half Day Cruise

A Scenic and Historic Journey Along the Algarve Coast
Step aboard the Santa Bernarda, a traditional two-masted sailing ship, and set off on a half-day cruise that blends coastal beauty, sea caves and local history. Departing from Portimão, the journey begins with a peaceful sail along the Arade River, passing the quaint village of Ferragudo, the 15th-century Castle of São João and the sands of Praia Grande.
As the ship reaches the open Atlantic, the coastline unfolds with hidden beaches, sea cliffs and iconic landmarks such as Ponta do Altar Lighthouse, Praia dos Caneiros and the remote Praia da Afurada, overlooked by an ancient Roman watchtower. Along the way, marvel at the unique formations near Carvoeiro, including the Algar Seco caves, Cape Carvoeiro and the dramatic cliffs near Vale de Centianes.
Midway through the cruise, you’ll transfer to a smaller cave boat for a guided exploration of the area’s most famous sea caves. Highlights include the stunning Benagil Cathedral Cave, the mysterious Submarine Cave and several others like Atlantis Cave, Crocodile Cave, Eco Cave and Turtle Cave.
Back on board, there’s time to relax and enjoy the scenery - or, for the more adventurous, try “walking the plank” (adults only!). The return journey passes by the world-famous Praia da Marinha, a final postcard-perfect view before sailing back to Portimão.
